How it works

Four steps from team insight to strategic action.

  1. 01

    Gather perspectives

Up to eight senior management team members each answer around 90 questions online, covering seven key business areas in approximately 15 minutes.

  2. 02

    Visualise insights

GrowthMapper analyses the responses and generates clear graphical outputs, revealing perceived strengths, weaknesses and areas for improvement.

  3. 03

    Align priorities

The results show where the team’s perspectives align or differ, creating a shared focal point for a facilitated discussion with an accredited coach or adviser.

  4. 04

    Shape the pathway

Together, the team agrees its business support needs and builds the foundation for a strategic pathway towards its identified objectives.

Cohort analytics

Turn individual diagnostics into programme wide intelligence.

Instead of simply showing what individual businesses said, GrowthMapper helps programme teams understand what the collective evidence is telling them and where support is likely to have the greatest impact.

  • See strengths, weaknesses and recurring themes across the whole cohort
  • Interrogate by diagnostic area, business, sector, participant position or function
  • Compare how different team members perceive the same challenges
  • Identify areas of strong alignment and where opinions diverge
  • Track changes where diagnostics are repeated during or after an intervention
  • Turn programme data into clear visual evidence for management, evaluation and reporting
  • Export underlying data for further analysis where required

How long does the diagnostic take a participant?

Most GrowthMapper diagnostics take around 10–15 minutes to complete, depending on the number of questions included. Responses are saved automatically as participants progress, so they can leave and return later without losing their work.

What areas do the existing diagnostics cover?

GrowthMapper 2.0 supports a range of established business diagnostics covering areas such as High Growth, Productivity, Sustainability, Digital Readiness and Access to Finance, alongside other specialist diagnostic frameworks.

Each diagnostic is designed to explore the areas most relevant to its particular business challenge, helping identify strengths, barriers, differences in perspective and priorities for action.

Can we use our own questions and framework?

Yes. One of the major enhancements introduced with GrowthMapper 2.0 is the ability to create and deliver diagnostics specifically around the needs of a programme, organisation or target group.

Our business specialists can work with you to define what you want to understand, identify the most appropriate areas to explore and design a diagnostic that produces meaningful and actionable insight. This could involve adapting an existing GrowthMapper framework or developing a completely new diagnostic for your programme.

Once created, the diagnostic benefits from the same GrowthMapper platform, participant management, multi-user capability, analysis and reporting tools.

What does the business actually get out of it?

GrowthMapper gives a business a clear picture of where it is today, where there may be barriers to progress and which areas deserve attention next.

Where several people from the same organisation participate, it can also highlight differences in perception across the leadership team, helping create a shared view of priorities and identify areas where greater alignment may be needed.

The resulting report provides a structured starting point for discussion and action. It is designed to support a productive conversation with an adviser rather than simply produce a score or verdict.

Does it replace the adviser?

No. GrowthMapper is designed to make advisory conversations more valuable, not replace them.

By gathering perspectives and identifying potential strengths, challenges and priorities before or during an engagement, GrowthMapper reduces the amount of advisory time spent on basic discovery. Advisers can focus more quickly on interpretation, challenge, recommendations and practical action.

How is GrowthMapper licensed to a programme?

GrowthMapper can be licensed to individual projects, programmes or larger organisations, with arrangements tailored around factors such as the number of businesses, diagnostic volumes, programme duration and required functionality.

This allows GrowthMapper to support everything from a focused business support programme through to larger multi-year initiatives involving multiple advisers, projects and diagnostic frameworks.
